Monique Lhuillier is fashion designer from Philippines who specializes is bridal dresses. While searching for her own wedding dress in 1995, she was shocked at the lack of variety and designs that the wedding dresses had. Monique ended up finding a wedding dress that fit her needs, but she then began to sketch 25 dresses for her close friends and family to weak to her wedding. Her bridal line debuted in 1996 and was immediately picked up by numerous buyers.
