Meet Krupa, one of our South Asian Bridez! She and her husband got married at a beautiful venue in downtown Pittsburgh, where the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio Rivers meet. We not only had the pleasure of getting her bridal hair and makeup ready for her ceremonies, but we also got the chance to interview her on her experiences. In this exclusive interview, Krupa talks about her wedding preparations, gives advice to upcoming brides, and reveals her own experiences with Cinderella Bridez.

Q: What bridal look were you going for? Glamorous and bold? Simple yet elegant?

Because her bridal outfit had lots of small details, she wanted to go for a simple, yet elegant look. Her makeup artist, Sharon, gave her a look that still made Krupa feel and look like herself. Her end result was a glowy, chic finish that highlighted her natural beauty. For her hair, she wanted a slicked-back bun that would make it easier to wear her veil. The combination of her gorgeous intricate dress and natural glam makeup made the absolute perfect match for her wedding look.

Q: How/where did you get inspiration for your wedding day look?

Sofia Richie’s “clean-girl” aesthetic was one of Krupa’s main inspirations as she searched for her own perfect bridal look. Krupa matched Richie’s iconic slicked-back ponytail and natural glow with her own bun and elegant makeup. Other sources of inspiration for Krupa were photos from Instagram and Pinterest, which showcased dozens of brides with similar styles.

Q: How did you get your skin ready for your makeup look? (skincare, dermaplaning, etc.)

About three months before her wedding, Krupa began to get regular facials at Silver Mirror Facial Bar in New York City, where they specialize in customizing facials for every skin type, ensuring that every client gets the treatment they need. With her esthetician, Krupa was able to both hydrate and brighten her skin during the time leading up to her wedding.

Q: How did you handle any stress (if you had any) while getting ready for your wedding?

Because she was surrounded by mother and bridesmaids the morning of her wedding, Krupa didn’t really feel any stress or anxieties. Together, they all listened to music and talked about their day, which helped distract Krupa from any worries that might have popped up. She also revealed that Sharon also helped ease any stress because of her calm and professional demeanor.

Q: How did you choose your perfect wedding venue? What aspects did you consider?

Pittsburgh is more than just a beautiful city to Krupa; it’s also her hometown. Because she holds so much sentimental value to the area, she also wanted her guests outside of Pittsburgh to witness the gorgeous city and surrounding nature. For the actual venue, Krupa and her husband were careful to select an area that was big enough to accommodate all of their guests. The combination of beautiful scenery and large space of the venue made this location a no-brainer when choosing their wedding venue.

Q: Where did your guests travel from?

Krupa and her husband’s guests traveled from all over the country, including Michigan, Texas, Georgia, New York, and New Jersey.

Q: How did you prepare for your wedding ceremony? What aspects did you consider for your wedding?

Because both Krupa and her husband are Hindu, and their families are both Gujarati, all of their traditions and customs are the same. Both families helped the two understand and appreciate the significance of each ritual and event that was planned for their wedding ceremonies. The two only asked for one slight accommodation from both families, which was for them to not cry during the Vidaai. In Hindu tradition, the Vidaai is a ritual when the bride’s family bids farewell to their daughter as she rides away with her new husband. To Krupa and her husband, they wanted this ritual to be a celebration of love and union, not a separation. With both their families’ help, the two were able to have a beautiful Hindu wedding.

Q: How did you and your spouse meet? How did you know you wanted to marry them?

Krupa and her husband first met through mutual friends. As they got to know each other better through texting and meet-ups, the two eventually became inseparable. They were both going through difficult times when they first met, but they were able to find comfort and support in each other. Together, they overcame their challenges through each other’s care. Looking back, Krupa reveals that these are the moments when she knew that she wanted to marry him. The pair is always laughing when they’re together, which was also important for Krupa when deciding her life partner.

Q: What are/were your honeymoon plans?

Krupa and her husband are planning to go to either Italy or join a safari in Africa for their upcoming plans. We wish them a relaxing, fun, and memorable honeymoon!

Q: Are there any moments that stand out to you from your wedding day?

For the entire weekend, Krupa and her husband felt so loved by all their friends and family. One highlight that Krupa remembers fondly is when she and her husband were on stage during the sangeet and reception. Seeing all of their loved ones on the dance floor brought so much happiness, love, and energy for the two, making these moments especially stand out for Krupa when thinking about her wedding.

Q: Do you have any do’s and don’ts for planning a wedding?

For any upcoming brides wishing for a big wedding but dreading the planning process, Krupa advises to make those dreams a reality. As she was planning her own big wedding, she kept second-guessing herself. She kept suggesting to cancel the big events and instead go to City Hall to sign the marriage papers. However, looking back on her wedding, she is so glad that she kept planning and had her gorgeous wedding because it was worth it in the end. As for don’ts, Krupa says to not stress about little details and to not expect everything to go perfectly. No matter what happens, everything will work out the way it’s supposed to.

Q: Why did you choose Cinderella Bridez for your wedding day?

Krupa has been following Cinderella Bridez for a few years on social media before even getting engaged. She’s always loved the looks we created and appreciated that we have a team who knows how to create Indian bridal looks. In the past, she had a friend who chose our team for her wedding day. When she looked at her friend’s bridal look, she immediately thought, “I want them for my wedding.” For her own wedding, Krupa says she felt just like herself. Even looking back at her weekend celebrations, she says she’s so glad that she chose our team to help her with her own beautiful bridal look.

Thank you again Krupa for this amazing interview opportunity! We wish you and your husband a happy and prosperous life together!
